Even people
who had not visit Turkey have a knowledge about Turkish cuisine . It has
variety of options and offers such a delicious dishes for your taste .
Ottoman
Empire was reigned in Mediterranean, Balkans, North Africa and Middle East . Therefore,
traditional Turkish Cuisine has been affected by these culture . When an
Albanian, an Arab or even an Italian
dine in Turkey, they can find a common taste with their culture.
Turkish
Breakfast also has many varieties. Foreigners who try Turkish Breakfast in
Istanbul, only eat like ''general summary'' of it . North of Turkey and West of
Turkey has not same breakfast habits. If you want to dine all Turkish Breakfast
in Turkey , it means you will get more than one hundred options in your table .
So because of its complexity , restaurant and cafes just offer main ones .
However , even this makes like 20 different alternatives . So today I am going
to mention the North, West ,South and East of Turkey traditional breakfast and
also Istanbul one . However I also only mention the most famous ones .
Otherwise ,if I want to mention all of Turkish Breakfast , I should write a
book for it :)
ISTANBUL
In Istanbul
, basically in a Turkish Breakfast you taste , jams like figs or apricot
,olives (black and green) , honey , butter , soujouk (Bologna Sausage ) with
fried eggs , Kaymak ( look like clotted cream) ,Pekmez (it is a grape syrup )
with tahini (sesame oil ), sliced tomatoes and many different cheese and finally of
course Turkish tea .
Also in rush hour ,people who have not enough
time ,they have breakfast with Simit and tea .
In much of
Turkey, these are the basic ingredient of Turkish Breakfast . However it varies
by region . According to their region people add other stuff to this main
content .
NORTH of TURKEY
In north of
Turkey , local people usually eat Muhlama and Fried meat in breakfast . Muhlama
is made with butter, corn flour and Black Sea's kashar cheese .
EAST of TURKEY
Especially
Van is the main city for making a breakfast . It is famous for Murtuga. The
meal has butter , flour and eggs . Also yogurt and herby cheese are the main
objects in Van breakfast .
SOUTH of TURKEY
In
Gaziantep, especially during the winter months , people starts the day with
Beyran soup . It has lamb meat ,butter, rice and garlic . Also local people and
foreigners like to eat Katmer . It is a flaky pastry with butter ,kaymak and
pistachio .
WEST of TURKEY
The biggest
city in west of Turkey is Izmir , and in Turkey when people heard Izmir and
breakfast in a same sentence , they instantly say Boyoz . It is another famous
pastry which is made by flour ,egg,salt and water . Some people use also cheese
or other ingredients into it and usually eat up with boiled egg and tea .
